Is Max Du Preez News24’s Don Quixote?

After reading Max Du Preez’s Opinion on News24, Landreform's Codesa Moment  I had a good laugh because if that piece of crap is not #FakeNewsPar Excellence then the tooth fairy really does exist!

After my good laugh I realised that Max is actually News24’s own Don Quixote. But instead of chasing windmills, Max’s job description is two-fold – number one is to hunt down Afrikaners who according to Max are ultra-right wing (don’t ask Max what is an ultra-right wing Afrikaner, he does not know himself) and number 2 is to counter the reaction of right-minded Afrikaners who “dare” to expose the Government’s incompetence and inadequacy like the current fiasco on EWC they created not on merit but according to pure anti-white sentiments.

It is against the background of the afore-mentioned that I read the crap again and again. After the third time I realised that it is actualy a very good example of what #FakeNews is or what pro-government propaganda is. Remember, I know Max from his day with Vrye Weekblad  when our paths crossed. What he did with Vrye Weekblad he is now doing the same at News24 – “blaas en raas dat die biesies bewe sonder om vorentoe te beweeg.”

Then I dissected his Land reform's Codesa Moment  and identified some big big holes in his story. I compiled a submission to News24 on 28 August 2018 requesting them to obtain information on the allegations/shots in the dark as dear old Max blocked me on social media platforms (experienced have told me that people block you on social media when you expose them with #FakeNews).
My gut feeling told me that News24 won’t publish my submission as it would expose Max and therefore I even provide them with my email address to which Max’s response could be submitted, but to no avail. Therefore I have to follow this avenue:

First of all, read his Land reform's Codesa Moment  here, then again, and then again.
Now read my submission to News24 which is as follows and decide for yourself:

Max, I have read your “Land reform’s Codesa moment” as published on News24 with my tongue in my cheek. My first reaction was, “Max, really, are you serious”? Then I said to myself, “myself, do not be like Max and judge before you ascertain yourself with the truth and nothing but the truth”. So, here it is Max, speak your heart out with facts.

1. You said: Black and white farmers got together with leaders of organised agriculture and agri-business in Limpopo last week and committed to ambitious land reform, something they will likely do more effectively than the state. Question: (1) Please be exact. Who were the leaders of organised agriculture and agri-business who attended?  (2) How many black and white farmers are there in South Africa and how many of each race attended this meeting? If you have it, give us a copy of the attendance list.

2. You said: And all this was achieved without the meddling of right wing lobbyists or Western governments. Question: Please define what is a “right wing lobbyist”.

3. You said: The only thing they have achieved was to seriously offend and annoy the government, the ruling party and most black (and a whole lot of white) citizens. Questions:  Isn’t it true that the pathetic manner in which the government reacted is just proving that the government has a hidden agenda and that they never had any thought to communicating to the people.

4. You said: It is reasonable to conclude that AfriForum's lobbying of the alt-right Fox news channel had directly led to United States (US) president Donald Trump's stupid tweet on South African affairs last week. Question: (1) Please provide us with more substantiated information with this ‘cheap shot in the dark’. (2) How the hell can you make the allegation that Trump made a ‘stupid tweet on South African affairs”?

5. You said: Yesterday the Freedom Front Plus also jumped on the foreign pressure bandwagon. It has written to the United Nations' Human Rights Commission in Geneva to complain against the expropriation proposals. The poor misguided souls. Question: (1) Another shot in the dark – please provide us with the contents of the letter written to the Human Rights Commission. (2) Who the hell are you to call the Freedom Front Plus “poor misguided souls”?

6. You said: I wasn't at the Limpopo meeting, because I addressed some of the country's best dairy farmers on land expropriation in Durban that day. Question: (1) Please provide us with a name list of the dairy farmers attending your meeting, per race. (2) Please provide us with a summary of what you discussed with them/informed them of. (3) Please provide us with you mandate to address the farmers as well as who mandated you.

7. You said: The people who work the land, the political leaders and the senior land affairs officials at the Limpopo meeting clearly feel very differently from the men of AfriForum and IRR in their isolated white bubbles. Question: Please provide us with a record of communication by the government to all white farmers (the entire population for that matter) on how EWC would work as well as the time frame.

8. You said: I have a reasonable suspicion that these two lobby groups are peddling in fear and panic in order to get more members and donations. That would be disgusting and unethical. Question: Put your money where your mouth is and share your suspicions with us.

9. You said: I hear Kriek and Ramphosa hit it off. Perhaps this is a quiet back channel of communication that can only be good for the process. The same goes for Van Zyl and Mabuza. Question: Come on Max, you are not yet a politician (I pray it will never happen) so give us the facts how they ‘hit it off”.

10. You said: Insiders tell me many good relationships started at the summit and that many black and white farmers bonded properly. Question: Once again, come on Max, you can fool some people but not all the people, explain the good relationships please.

Thanks Max, these are all the questions we need better answers/perspective on than your cheap shots in the dark and as we know you since your days with die Vrye Weekblad it is just much said about nothing!

In conclusion: The government, as usual was caught with their pants off and red-faced for them being exposed so they had to counter it with fake news and fake counter schemes and who better than dear old Max and his master, Media 24 to try to get the ‘drol uit die drink water’.

  1. Afriforum & AgriSA are both broederbond fronts.
AgriSA signed with the other 3 "black" farming organisations, this is why Absa, another BroederBond front has offered to help blacks to fund their own farms.
