Book Review: Vicious Circle by Wilbur Smith

I am an avid fan of Wilbur Smith’s novels - or, I’d rather qualify the statement - I was an avid fan until I read his latest book, Vicious Circle, or rather tried to read it.

After I have read the book about halfway, I threw it aside and decided no, enough is enough. No more Wilbur Smith for me! And one must bear in mind that I became a fan of his books way back in the 70’s when I bought his first book and since then I have read all his books, unfortunately also Vicious Circle but fortunately only halfway through.

Vicious Circle is supposed to be a follow-up on the book Those in Peril and I must admit that Vicious Circle started off well and it was a joy to read until, it seemed to me, poor old Wilbur lost the plot and it became just a piece of filth after the other.

Yes, my opinion is that it just became filth, nothing more, nothing less. It was very odd for me. Wilbur is an acclaimed author. So what happened here? Nobody knows, maybe not even Wilbur will know what happened but he delft into the darkest and filthiest side of human nature. As if he wanted to shock the reader, to make him sick, to annoy him.

Here a few examples:

She thrust her hips towards him and she felt him touch the mouth of her womb. “You are as slimy as a bucket of eels down there, you dirty bitch,” he said.

With a single stroke of the silver blade he sliced the ear of cleanly at the level of her scalp. “Now eat it. Put it in your mouth and swallow it,” he told her softly. “Eat it or I will cut out your eyeballs, one at a time.” She put her ear into her mouth.

“I think we need a little blood to get Hannibal worked up.” He swung the spade at the level of her knees. The steel cut through to the bone and shattered her kneecap. Blood spurted from the wound. Silvestre tossed Bryoni over the wall. She fell amongst the hogs. Hannibal led the charge of great black bodies. He locked his tusks into her wounded leg. He worried the mutilated limb, trying to tear off a mouthful of flesh, dragging Bryoni on her back through the mud. Bryoni lifted her face towards the camera. “Please,” she cried. “Please somebody help me.” Then another animal bit her shoulder and heaved back, until he and Hannibal had Bryoni’s body racked between them. A third boar surged forward and bit into her stomach and then pulled back, tearing out a tangled mass of her entrails. Bryoni opened her mouth for the last time. “Daddy”! She cried out in a piercing but slowly descending pith. And the pigs tore bloody chunks from her body and gulped them down.

This book is definitely not for the squeamish. I had to battle through more than 300 pages before I realized that I am squeamish, but enough was enough.

Maybe I am too critical. But after many Wilbur Smith books on my record, this one was just not my cup of teas.

I believe many people will like it, so try it out.

Mandela, Mbeki and Zuma and the White Genocide in South Africa

South African Whites, not only in South Africa, but all over the world, spontaneous decided enough is enough of the government supported genocide of Whites in South Africa. The result was a successful Red October Campaign in South Africa and the world over to bring awareness for this genocide.

People will say I am harsh to say that the government supports this genocide of Whites. But it is true. This genocide of Whites is a fact, even if liberal newspapers like Beeld, makes it off as White right-wing racism. The government is only turning a blind eye on this White genocide, and what do they do instead? Changing the names of places that is dear to the Whites and is part of our cultural heritage - adding insult to injury.

But where did this White genocide started? It started with Mandela. Yes, murderous Mandela who is a hero and icon for the world, for all the atrocities during the ANC’s so-called struggle.

Mandela was never keen to talk and denounce violence and to cease the ANC’s struggle. Instead, he was going for an all-out genocide of the whites. But, fortunately, while still in prison the ‘base’ told him exactly what would happen if he would continue with his struggle. So, he was released from prison, and wrongly branded as hero and icon.

In his mind he knew he was going to continue with his struggle by means of ‘kill the Boer, kill the Farmer’ and who else than Peter Mokaba who planted the seed of a White genocide in the mind of the masses. Fortunately, the Peter is currently burning in hell.

Mandela was a happy chappie as the genocide of whites took off and started gaining momentum, taken further by Malema.

Therefore, this genocide started way back in 1994 and continues up to now. Mandela turned a blind eye, Mbeki turned a blind eye, but Zuma did not turn a blind eye. He likes it, he enjoys it, and he loves it! Here you can go and watch how he enjoys it.

What is South Africa’s Answer to Murphy’s Law?

South Africa loves excuses. South Africa loves to blame. You all know Murphy’s Law?  Well here is South Africa’s Law - “If anything can go wrong, it will always be someone else’s fault.”

So, if something goes wrong in South Africa, it is always either Apartheid’s fault or the Whites’ fault.

And in rugby, when your team loses, it is always the referee’s fault.

There you have it, South Africa’s  own version of Murphy’s Law.M

Cry Racist in South Africa?

Zuma is very much concerned and worried about the media tendency in South Africa to report the negativity or only the bad news. Although Zuma is president of this country; it seems he is from a different planet - a planet only he knows where it is. Because, if he was indeed from South Africa, he would know that South Africa is indeed captivated by a culture of negativity. But who’s fault is it Zuma? Certainly not the media’s fault. They are not responsible for corruption, crime, farm killings, rape, murder, poor service delivery on all levels of government, the collapse of health services in the country, petrol price sky-rocketing, all roads in South Africa deteriorating  except the etoll-roads, and so forth, and so forth.

So, with this concern of Zuma in my head that the media was only reporting the negative or bad things, I was watching SABC2 news (AKA His Master’s Voice) last night, the 7 O’clock bulletin when out of the blue it was reported of a domestic worker in Cape Town who laid criminal charges against her employer for racial abuse over many years. A big thing was made of it. The poor victim on camera, swearing, with her black lawyer in his robe for all to see complaining about the racial abuse. So sad. And then they switched to the employer and he was surprised that she is still working for him in spite of all his atrocities against her - cry racist?

But, do not get me wrong, I am not saying it is not true. What I am saying is that the SABC can stop wasting my license fee on such trivial matters. If not, then they should also waste money on black-on-white racial incidents, like the farm killings, like a black person breaking into a white person’s house only to murder, no intention of stealing or any other crime.

And, the punch line is, Zuma should start at the SABC first to clean up their act of wasting time and money on trivial negative news!

PS: One fact is for certain - Zuma is indeed concerned. As you can see on the photo, he is even depressed because of it!!

Mandela and the White Genocide

Everybody hails Mandela as a hero, as an icon. I do not!

He is a cold blooded murderer who has the blood of innocent people who died under the atrocities and murderous acts of the freedom fighters during the ANC’s so-called struggle. Read here.
But, the murderous acts and atrocities did not end when the ANC took over in 1994. Today the ‘struggle’ is continuing fiercer whilst the government turns a blind eye:

“Mandela's passing and the looming threat of a race war against South Africa's whites. As a widow mourns the latest murdered Afrikaner farmer, a chilling dispatch from a nation holding its breath
  • Roelof du Plessis, 46 shot on his farm outside Pretoria by gang of black intruders
  • Fears rise that killings are part of a systematic bid to drive white people out of South Africa
  • President Jacob Zuma known to sing 'struggle song' about killing white Afrikaners, . .. . .”

And they call Mandela a hero, an icon??

My 67 Minutes on Mandela Day

First of all I do not give a crap about Mandela, Mandela Day or the idiotic 67 minutes idea - go here to see why.

However, like they say, if you cannot win them, join them. So, what I will do is also to dedicate 67 minutes of my time to something dear and near to me.

My 67 minutes will go to reminiscence about all the innocent people of South Africa who were killed and maimed as a result of the murderous acts of the ANC thugs during their so-called freedom-struggle.

Believe you me, they should all have been charged with war crimes - but what happened? Now they are heroes?
Bull!!!!

Mandela to Help the Cheetahs Win the Super 15!

What a scoop! What a bloody scoop I have!

Fresh from the horse’s mouth! The Cheetahs are going to win the Super 15 Trophy for 2013 - with the help of Mandela!

But, before I continue, apology to all my loyal Afrikaans supporters for not writing this scoop in Afrikaans. Due to the international interest in Mandela, especially Obama and Branson who think that Mandela is a hero, I have to write in English. Oh, and for Tutu.

The Cheetahs have arranged, and paid royalties (in South Africa we call it money exchanging hands under the table) to win this year’s Super 15 Trophy. Mandela is going to wear a number 6 Cheetah jersey when they start their campaign this weekend against the Brumbies.  For this reason the Cheetahs will wear black jerseys and not their traditional white jerseys - black is beautiful and Mandela does not like white. (Sorry, Jake, that includes you too). But Jake, do not worry, the Cheetahs will appoint you as their coach for next year.

The Cheetahs have arranged for an ambulance (that is roadworthy and in good mechanical order) to bring Mandela to all the fields the Cheetahs are playing - when they have to play overseas, like this weekend, Obama will send Air Force One . There, a Harley Davidson converted in an ICU wheelchair, will bring Mandela onto the field.

There you are. Sorry Bulls, but you will win next year for certain, without any need to pay royalties.

GO CHEETAHS GO!!!!!
LOVE YOU CHEETAHS!

Will the Real Nelson Mandela Please Stand Up

The country is praising Mandela; he is their hero, their Moses. The world, especially Obama is praising Mandela; he is their super-hero, their super-Moses. But, who is this Mandela? I don’t know this Mandela.

Therefore, will the real Nelson Mandela please stand up. Yes, the Mandela who should have been hanged back in 1963. The Mandela whose hands are dripping with blood of all the innocent people who were murdered during the ANC’s so-called struggle. The Mandela who defied the gallows in 1963 but who should have been charged with war crimes in 1994.

The Mandela who defied the firing squad and became a joke as he became the President of South Africa. The Mandela who should at least, on becoming the president, during his inauguration, have apologised for the ANC’s war crimes and atrocities during their so-called struggle. But, instead, continued with his war against the whites. Changing the names of cities, towns and streets that were the whites’ cultural heritage and had nothing to do or had no bearing on Apartheid. Allowing his comrades to be appointed in top positions without the necessary skills or qualifications and thus destroyed a public service that was built up to be amongst the best in the world. Allowing the same comrades to kick out whites in posts and appointing even worse people in their place, accelerating the downfall of the public service. Allowing incompetent people elect to steal to their hearts content, to corrupt and just let the country go to tatters. Allowing a crime wave to hit this country that would take a struggle once again to rid the country of it. Allowing the genocide of the white farmer.

This is the real Mandela. And his real legacy is one of a country ridden by crime wave after crime wave, of a country divided even more and worse than during the Apartheid years. A legacy of poverty, illiteracy, corruption, murdering of white farmers, etc., etc. A legacy of beggars, of free houses, free water, free electricity, but no self-worth and no employment.

Thank you, the real Mandela, you can now sit down again, or lie down.
